Verity introduced its AI-assisted item counting feature, designed to transform inventory management at picking locations and other warehouse locations.

"AI-assisted item counting helps us proactively find errors, particularly at picking locations. The 3D image provided in the report is incredibly effective—especially when package configurations are available—as it clearly shows the number of layers on a pallet, making it easier for us to confirm deviations. With this assistance, we can now quickly identify potential picking errors in orders and react swiftly to resolve them," says James Matthew Rosal, site manager, DSV.

"As supply chains accelerate and margin pressures grow, even the smallest issues can derail operations—especially in order fulfillment. Verity’s new capability enables item-level precision, ensuring accuracy and operational reliability," adds Raffaello D’Andrea, co-founder, CEO, and chairman of Verity.

Key takeaways:

  • Combining fully autonomous drones and AI algorithms, the Verity system automates item, box and case counting, detects discrepancies, and flags issues before they impact operations. The system captures depth information, creating a 3D map of the scene.
  • An AI-powered vision algorithm identifies pallets, analyzes volumetric information and detects cases and boxes, ensuring accurate item and layer counts.
  • Verity’s AI-assisted item counting is now available for large-scale rollout.
  • Features include fully autonomous scanning, AI-driven computer vision, real-time inventory insights, visual verification and comprehensive reporting.
