Procurement Training Program Expands Global Reach
Next Level Purchasing reports that Senior Professional in Supply Management online procurement program has certified individuals in more than 25 countries
Moon Township, PA — April 9, 2008 — Supply chains know no borders, and now supply chain certification is going global, too.
Certification provider Next Level Purchasing reports that its Senior Professional in Supply Management (SPSM) online procurement program is the first of its kind to have certified individuals in more than 25 countries, most recently including Italy, Ireland and Australia.
Next Level says it developed the SPSM certification to be globally applicable and that the program has drawn interest from purchasers around the world.
In addition, with the growing importance of international sourcing, Next Level has developed a new course, "Basics Of Smart International Procurement," in collaboration with Dick Locke, a widely known procurement authority and author of Global Supply Management. The new course focuses on preparing buyers for the challenges of purchasing internationally, such as cultural differences and exchange rate risks.
Additional courses — "Executing a Global Sourcing Strategy" and a Spanish edition of the purchasing fundamentals course — are currently in development, with an expected release date of April/May 2008.
"We strive to keep our purchasing training universal, relevant and as up-to-date as possible," said Charles Dominick, SPSM, president and founder of Next Level Purchasing. "The increasing need for companies to source internationally has led to the demand for global procurement courses and we are excited to help purchasers develop their international procurement skills."
Next Level said its certification programs help organizations to lower costs, support operations and reduce risk by improving purchasing processes and expanding the capabilities of supply management organizations.
